This project originated from an Intermedia prompt “America’s Most Wanted.” We could choose to create anything we wanted from that title. I decided to create a video installation on fame in America. In America, we are obsessed with those more famous than us because we perceive them to be better, stronger, happier, and more successful than us.

But when you ask the famous, they will tell you that fame does not equate happiness. In fact, fame often ruins the lives of these artists. Sometimes to the point of death. I wanted to highlight that juxtaposition in this project.

In the experience, the viewer walked into a dark, empty galley and sat in the middle of the room, facing a blank wall. The lights went black and the piece began with a projector completely surrounding the viewer on three walls featuring edited video of celebrities and their battles with fame.

The installation was then recorded with a 360 camera to capture the experience.
